Herbal Activism in Times of Crisis

Guest Workshop by herbalist, krisi anthemum

Join us to explore the herbalist's role at protests, marches, and in times of political crisis. Herbalist krisi anthemum will teach herbal first aid and rapid response best practices.

When our communities are in crisis, herbalists have a unique lens and skill set for lending community support. Join herbalist krisi anthemum at this free workshop to discuss the inherent politics of contemporary herbalism and the role of the herbal activist in times of crises. krisi will spend the bulk of this workshop training participants on how to show up as herbal street medics at protests and rallies. We'll also talk about rapid response best practices (centered around combatting ICE) and the role of the community herbalist in the aftermath of trauma and disaster.

Participants will learn basic herbal first aid, as well as how to set up their herbal emergency first aid kit. They'll also receive recipes for post-disaster healing remedies. Participants will leave feeling empowered with the knowledge and tools they need to show up as engaged and healers and activists in their communities.

Please note: this class does not replace a 20-hour street medic training.
